Kah-Nee-Ta High Desert Resort & Casino is located at the beginning of the high desert region of Central Oregon, just two hours from Portland and an hour and a half from Bend.
Directions
FROM PORTLAND/ PORTLAND AIRPORT: 119 MILES
Take I-205 to Exit 22 (Interstate 84). Follow I-84 to Exit 16 (Woodvillage). Follow 238th (it will automatically turn into 242nd) through six stoplights. At the 7th stoplight turn left on Burnside. Burnside turns into Highway 26 East and then follow the signs to Madras/Bend. 29 miles from the flashing yellow light at Government Camp is the Simnasho cut-off to Kah-Nee-Ta (before milepost 85). Take the cut-off and follow the signs to Kah-Nee-Ta. This road (Highway 3) will take you to a community called Simnasho. Continue on Highway 3 until you see the signs for Kah-Nee-Ta at the Warm Springs River. Turn left and continue for approximately two miles to Kah-Nee-Ta.
OR
Take I-205 to Exit 12B (Mt. Hood - Sandy). Follow Highway 212 through the towns of Damascus and Boring. At the North end of Boring there is a sign for Sandy/Mt. Hood, turn right. Follow this road until Highway 26 (where you turn right). Follow above directions from Highway 26.
If the weather is wintery over Highway 26 or you would like a scenic view of the Columbia Gorge:
Take I-205 to Exit 22 (Interstate 84). Follow I-84 until The Dalles. As you approach The Dalles, take the fourth exit (Highway 197 South). Follow Highway 197 until Highway 216 West (seven miles past Tygh Valley). Follow Highway 216 until a mini market called Walter's Corner (approximately five miles). Turn left and follow the signs. This road (Highway 3) will take you to a community called Simnasho. Continue on Highway 3 until you see the signs for Kah-Nee-Ta at the Warm Springs River. Turn left and you will drive about two miles to the Kah-Nee-Ta Village.
FROM SOUTH WILLAMETTE VALLEY: (160 MILES FROM SALEM)
Take Highway 22 to Sisters, Highway 20 to Redmond. Turn North on Highway 97 in Redmond. Follow Highway 97 to Madras. At the North end of Madras take Highway 26 to Warm Springs. At the flashing yellow light on Highway 26 in Warm Springs turn right and follow the signs to Kah-Nee-Ta.
FROM THE DALLES
Take Highway 197 South. Follow Highway 197 until Highway 216 West (seven miles past Tygh Valley). Go North on Highway 97 through Redmond to Madras. At the North end of Madras take Highway 26 to Warm Springs. At the flashing yellow light on Highway 26 in Warm Springs turn right and follow the signs to Kah-Nee-Ta.
